How your money is protected

You are trusting us with the proceeds from your property sale. Here is exactly how we keep them safe — in plain language, with nothing buried.

Your money is kept separate

Every exchange gets its own escrow account. Your sale proceeds are held there for you alone — never pooled with other clients' funds, and never used as our operating money. They are your funds; xchange1031 Exchange Services LLC is only the custodian holding them until you buy your replacement property.

FDIC-insured, at a regulated bank

Your money sits at an FDIC-insured, nationally chartered bank, in a segregated escrow account held for you. It is covered by standard FDIC deposit insurance — currently up to $250,000 per depositor — and it is never invested. It stays as cash, held for you alone.

Two people approve every transfer

No single person can move your money — not our staff, and not any one account. Every transfer out requires two different approvers to sign off. This "dual control" is how we stop both honest mistakes and fraud before money leaves your account.

Always in view, always notified

You can see exactly where your money is at any time, and we email you the moment it moves. No black box, no surprises — proof of your balance is one click away whenever you need it.

What FDIC insurance does — and doesn't — do

FDIC insurance protects your deposit if an insured bank itself fails. It does not cover investment losses — and we never invest your money. It stays as cash in your segregated escrow account. The protections that guard against misuse are the ones above: your funds are kept separate, and no transfer happens without two approvals.

If something ever seems wrong

Because your funds are segregated and held for you — not owned by the company — they are not ours to spend. Two-person approval guards against any unauthorized transfer. If you ever have a question about how your money is held, reach out — we will walk you through it, and you can pull a proof-of-funds letter showing your exact balance at any time.

Ready when you are.

xchange1031 helps you run your exchange — it is not legal or tax advice. See our full terms & disclosures. A CPA or tax attorney should still review your exchange.
